This policy explains which cookies may be used when you visit uskudartesisat.com and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. The browser sends them back on later requests, which lets a site remember things such as whether you are signed in. Some cookies expire when you close the browser; others last for a set period.
No advertising or analytics cookies
We don't show adverts, we don't use analytics or tracking tools at present, and we don't set cookies that follow you around the web or build a profile of what you read. If you visit the site as a reader, our own site sets no cookies at all.
Strictly necessary cookies
Two kinds of strictly necessary cookie may be used. Under most cookie laws, cookies that are essential to provide a service or keep it secure don't require consent, which is why we don't show a consent banner.
Editor login cookie
When one of the site's editors signs in to manage content, the site sets a single session cookie to keep them signed in. It is marked httpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it, and it expires after 24 hours. It is only ever set for editors who log in; readers never receive it.
Security cookies set by Cloudflare
Traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site against attacks and abusive automated traffic. To do this, Cloudflare may set short-lived security cookies, for example __cf_bm, which helps tell people apart from bots, or cf_clearance, which records that a browser has passed a security check. These cookies are used for security only, not for advertising or tracking you across other websites.
How to control cookies
Every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, usually under settings for privacy or site data. You can delete cookies already stored, block them for particular sites, or block all cookies. You can also use a private window, which discards cookies when it closes.
Blocking every cookie won't stop you reading our articles. If you block the security cookies, you may simply see more security checks than usual, and editors will not be able to stay signed in without the login cookie.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics or any other non-essential cookies, we will update this page first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before setting them. The date at the top shows when the policy last changed.
