This policy explains what personal data Üsküdar Tesisat collects when you use uskudartesisat.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. Our readers live in many countries. Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, or Türkiye's Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), you have the rights those laws give you, and we apply the same principles to everyone else.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the operator of Üsküdar Tesisat (uskudartesisat.com). For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, email [email protected].
What we collect and why
Messages you send us
When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, together with the date and time it was sent. We use this only to read and reply to your message and to act on any correction or suggestion it contains. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering readers who write to us. We keep contact messages for up to 12 months and then delete them, unless an ongoing exchange or a legal obligation means a particular message has to be kept longer.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our server records basic technical details of each request: IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the date and time, and the server's response. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, for example to detect abuse, block attacks and fix errors. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site and its readers. Logs are kept only briefly, normally no more than a few weeks, unless we need a specific entry to investigate a security incident.
What we don't collect
We don't run advertising, we don't use analytics or tracking cookies at present, and we don't build profiles of readers. We don't sell personal data or share it with anyone for marketing.
Cookies
The only cookie set by our own site is a strictly necessary login cookie used by the site's editors when they sign in to manage content. Readers who don't sign in never receive it. Our security provider may set strictly necessary security cookies. Our Cookie Policy gives the details.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Cloudflare. All traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare, which acts as our content delivery network and security service. It processes IP addresses and request data to deliver pages quickly, protect the site against attacks and filter automated traffic.
- Our hosting provider. The site's files, database (including contact form messages) and server logs are stored on a server rented from a hosting provider.
- Email. When we reply to you, the message passes through the email service we use to send and receive mail.
These providers process data on our instructions or under their own data protection terms, and we don't allow them to use your data for their own marketing.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including outside the European Economic Area, the UK and Türkiye. Where the law requires it, such transfers rely on recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, or on the transfer mechanisms permitted under KVKK.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted HTTPS connections, restricted access to the server and to the editors' area, and keeping software up to date. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to keep the data we hold to a minimum.
Children
This site is written for adults who look after a home. It is not aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal data about you and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Under Article 11 of KVKK you also have the right to learn the purposes of processing, to know the third parties to whom data is transferred, to object to a result reached solely through automated analysis that is to your detriment, and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to ask for information to confirm your identity. We will reply within one month, or within 30 days where KVKK applies, and requests are normally free of charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority in the country where you live, where you work or where you believe the problem arose. In Türkiye this is the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu); in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in EU countries, the national data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if our practices change, for example if we ever add analytics. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and we will make significant changes clear on this page. The Terms of Use explain the other conditions that apply to the site.
